Sheraton Casino: Home of the “Hot Spot” opened August 1, 1994, at Casino Center in Northern Tunica County, Mississippi, just 12 miles from Tennessee state line at Casino Center off Highway 61. The 92,000 square-foot casino features 33,000 square feet of gaming space. The Sheraton hotel experience offers the only all suite hotel in Tunica. The Food & Beverage Director will have the following responsibilities:
Ensures products and dining experiences delights the guests.
Monitors all food operations/outlets to ensure proper staffing levels, cleanliness and physical conditions of the areas are appropriate.
Monitors the quality of food and service.
Maintains control of inventory, purchasing and receiving procedures and conducts quality control inspections.
Prepares long range plans and budget requirements to meet development goals.
Responsible for all Entertainment functions to include entertainment bookings, contract negotiations, ticketing, A/V, and appropriate staffing levels.
Develops and administers departmental operating budgets. Monitors payroll expenses, food and beverage costs and other expenses to ensure budget goals are met.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory, internal controls, policies and procedures.
Conducts service education program, coaches, develops and leads staff in proper performance of duties.
Creates and demonstrates a positive, supportive work environment.
Monitors performance of direct reports to ensure goals and objectives are met. Provides feedback and performance appraisals.
Assures effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility by informing employees of plans and progress and conducting employee discussion sessions at regular intervals.
Consults with all segments of management for the operation and makes recommendations improving the effectiveness of policies and practices.
Accountable for meeting or exceeding all state and company sanitation requirements.
College Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
Minimum of six years experience in the Food & Beverage industry to include experience with large hotel/resort complex, covering areas of front and back of house.
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills required.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
