Sheraton Casino: Home of the “Hot Spot” opened August 1, 1994, at Casino Center in Northern Tunica County, Mississippi, just 12 miles from Tennessee state line at Casino Center off Highway 61. The 92,000 square-foot casino features 33,000 square feet of gaming space. The Sheraton hotel experience offers the only all suite hotel in Tunica. Responsible for obtaining food and beverage orders as well as serving customers. Takes orders for soup, salad, entrée, appetizer as needed through knowledge of products and preparation of all menu items. This requires committing to memory the available menu items. Enters orders accurately on the computer (POS) system and managing time for pick-up by communicating with the chef and kitchen staff and understanding basic cooking times. Retrieves food items from kitchen including hot and cold stations – placing food on guerdon or tray and delivering to appropriate guests. Responsible for all aspects of guest service. Retrieves appropriate CG&S as needed. Calls drink orders to service bartender and serves drinks to guests. Maintains a basic knowledge of drinks available. Upsells at every opportunity (i.e. appetizers, special entress, desserts, beverages). Prepares and verifies final guest check for accuracy, presents to guest. Pre-authorizes all room charges and delivers all payments to cashier along with any required paperwork (i.e. signed room charge, comp slip, etc). The position requires the employee to maintain and upbeat and positive attitude with all guests and co-workers. The employee will smile, make eye contact and be enthusiatic and energetic using volume and inflection of tone and gestures to convey positive energy during all guest interactions. The employee is required to initiate a conversation with a friendly verbal greeting to all guests. The employee is required to check for satisfaction whenever they render a service to a guest and, if a problem exists, they are to resolve it, personally hand off the problem or refer the guest appropriately. The employee is to express appreciation to each guest for their business and is to leave the guest with a positive parting remark. The employee will participate with energy and enthusiasm in pre-shift Buzz Session.
