SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSEThe incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force. This position is accountable for coordinating and supervising the daily Housekeeping activities in order to maintain Harrah’s standards and ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees in order to provide superior customer service.
- Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates, and supervises assigned personnel; coaches for success and continuing improvement of employee skills.
- Follows-up on all guest concerns relating to their stay at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities of Room Attendants, Hotel Cleaning Specialists and Summit Suites Housekeepers to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
- Responsible for floor start-ups, key issuance, assignment sheets, and supply order and pick-up.
- Maintains communication with peers and Housekeeping office for effective distribution of job duties as required by business levels.
- Responsible for the follow up with Engineering to ensure timely work order completion. Responds to all Service Recoveries.
- Responsible for completing at least 28 formal room inspections daily. Responsible for closing each day; responsible for departmental reporting as required
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- College Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
One to two years in a Housekeeping supervisory position preferred
ABILITIES:
- Literate and fluent in English
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good interpersonal skills, with emphasis in relationship build
- Good problem solving skills
- Good customer service skills, both internal and external
