Harrah’s Casino Resort: Grand Opening May 23, 2008 (Formerly Grand Casino), Harrah’s Casino Resort is northern Mississippi’s most complete destination resort, 20 minutes from the Memphis International Airport, and centrally located among many of the South’s most popular travel attractions. The largest gaming resort between Las Vegas and Atlantic City, Grand Casino Resort spans over 2,000 acres, featuring three elegant hotels with wireless Internet availability surrounding The Links at Cottonwoods, an 18-hole Hale Irwin-designed championship golf course. Sheraton Casino: Home of the “Hot Spot” opened August 1, 1994, at Casino Center in Northern Tunica County, Mississippi, just 12 miles from Tennessee state line at Casino Center off Highway 61. The 92,000 square-foot casino features 33,000 square feet of gaming space. The Sheraton hotel experience offers the only all suite hotel in Tunica.   • Responsible for creating, coordinating, implementing and evaluating all casino special events, and developing more knowledgeable Associates in the area of Special Events.
  • Designs, develops and implements all casino Special Events.
  • Events including slot tournaments, parties, give-aways, and entertainment; facilitates the review process for all proposed special events, and provides input to Corporate.
  • Reviews the monthly financial statements for accuracy, emphasizing cost effectiveness of special events.
  • Develops and implements an Associate Awareness Program, with the express purpose of creating more knowledgeable Associates.
  • Authors a special events publication, for distribution to all Associates on property, providing timely and informative reading.
  • Updates and distributes a Special Events Calendar for the in-depth review of all Associates.
  • Prepares, and submits to the Vice-President of guest Services, a monthly activity summary of special events.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the thoroughness and accuracy of departmental records and reports.
  • Verifies, on a daily basis, that all posters, brochures and comment cards are well stocked, and re-stocks same, as needed.
  • Submits advertising work orders for casino special events.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports, and for maintaining an exceptional level of guest service and satisfaction.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Creates an atmosphere of FUN for all casino guests.
  • Sets positive examples at all times.
  • Encourages Associates to share ideas, discuss concerns and resolve conflicts.
  • Retains Associates through involvement in Associate Training & Development.
