Horseshoe Southern Indiana is the world’s largest riverboat casino with over 90,000 square feet of gaming action, we’re located just 20 minutes from downtown Louisville, KY and situated in Elizabeth, Indiana (Harrison County). The property is just 10 minutes south of New Albany, IN on Hwy. 111.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the efficient management and day-to-day operation of assigned food and beverage outlet.
Qualifications: A college degree in Management or the Culinary Arts is preferred.
A minimum of two to three years experience as a supervisor/manager in hotel and/or restaurant industry required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be a self-starter and possess problem solving, analytical reasoning, critical thinking skills and be highly organized. Team player and professional appearance are a must.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures venue product and dining experiences surprise and delight the guests.
Solicits and responds to guest feedback by direct interaction.
Conducts service education program, coaches, develops and leads staff in proper performance of duties.
Leads by creating a positive, supportive work environment.
Develops and administers departmental operating budget.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory, internal controls, policies and procedures.
Communicates and cooperates with the food production management team.
All other job duties as assigned.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to respond to calmly and make rational decisions, when handling guest and employee conflicts.
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, 6 – 8 hours.
Responds to visual and aural cues.
Must be fluent and literate in English.
Must be able to stoop, bend, as well as maneuver through all areas of the venue and kitchen.
Must be able to maneuver from floor to floor via stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or by escalator.
Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
Must have the manual dexterity to grab, grip, type, pull, hold, tear, sort, and reach.
Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
Must be able to work a varied schedule, holidays and weekends as needed.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.
