Deal poker card games to patrons.

Job Description:
Responsible for dealing casino poker games as assigned in order to provide a courteous and entertaining experience for Harrah’s guests and generate revenue for the department. Provides game instructions to guest when requested or as assigned in order to encourage game activity. Sponsors new dealers as needed in order to provide new hires with adequate on the job training. Provides game protection by keeping visual contact of all guests and game layout. Initiates courteous and friendly conversation with guests. Performs dealing services at assigned table to gaming customers in accordance with the System of Internal Controls, Missouri Gaming Commission Regulations and Game Rules. Maintains a continuous inspection of cards, ensuring the security of assigned game at all times. Communicates all pertinent information to supervisor. Seats customers whenever necessary. (may ask to perform the function of Poker Brush). Washes and resorts cards whenever necessary. Assists in updating player waiting lists when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, & Education Preferred:
tactfully Successful completion of Poker Dealer School or other specialized training. Able to communicate clearly and.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand/sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to continuously stand/sit and maneuver in a confined space.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral signals.
  • Must be able to continually stand/sit for the entire shift with periodic breaks during hours worked.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements pertaining to dealing the various table games, ie: pitch cards, handle money efficently, handle checks/chips professionally.
  • Must be able to tolerate area's containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies
  • Must be able to process transactions accurately.
  • Excellent vision (including peripheral) is essential.

*Certain Poker Dealers have been selected as Dual-Rate Supervisors and on assigned shifts, may work in the capacity as a Poker Supervisor rather than a Dealer. On such occasions, the employee will clock-in under a separate HR code, which will pay, track and record their time in the system at the appropriate rate and rank.

Licensing and Certification Required:
Employees may be required to obtain a Missouri Gaming Commission license. The initial license is paid for by the employee through payroll deduction. All subsequent renewals for the license are paid by Harrah’s North Kansas City.
