SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
To provide superior service to Harrah’s guests by seeking opportunity to be of service; maintaining highly visible patrols to insure a safe gaming experience; assuring quality support to other departments so they may serve guests more effectively; and conducting property-wide investigations and evaluating incidents involving subjects who are being 86’d or who may have committed crimes on the property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs all essential functions of a Security Officer I.
  
• Conducts investigations, interviews and interrogations pertaining to any incident reported by a guest or employee. Completes written reports on the incidents.
  
• Evaluates and resolves incidents involving subjects who are being 86’d, have previously been 86’d or may have committed crimes on property.
  
• Oversees and maintains control of incidents occurring on the property until Security supervisors are able to respond.
  
• Assists in the development and implementation of the ongoing training program for new Security employees.
  
• Assists the on duty supervisor in coordinating efforts during emergency situations such as bomb threats, fire, flood, hazardous material spills, evacuations, etc.
  
• Assists in developing effective hotel security procedures.
  
• Investigates fraudulent checks for the Collections and Cashier Departments.
  
• Handles evidence returned by law enforcement agencies and returns it to the
  appropriate departments.

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Two or more years in law enforcement or security preferred
  
• One year investigative experience preferred
  
• Six months of experience in Harrah’s Tahoe Security with a Highly Successful performance rating

ABILITIES:

• All abilities required for a Security Officer I
  
• Ability to pass a required written test and oral interview and to perform a practical demonstration of ability to perform the essential functions of a Security Officer II
  
• Excellent report writing skills and computer literacy
  
• Must be skilled in defensive tactics
  
• Knowledge of laws common to the Nevada Hotel/Casino industry
  
• Excellent investigative skills
  
• Ability to make logical, objective decisions
  
• Knowledge of detainment and arrest procedures
