JOB SUMMARY: Delivering truly great service by cashing checks and converting coins, tokens, and gaming checks into currency for gaming guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: processing checks, credit card advances, and point of sale debits; and, answering guest questions and giving directions in a prompt, courteous and efficient manner. Maintaining all funds entrusted to him/her on a shift basis; providing prompt, friendly, and courteous service to all guests; cashing checks and converting gaming checks, coupons, tokens, and coins for gaming guests; supplying currency, coin, and gaming checks to other departments as needed; making credit inquiries, performing credit checks, and making other related functions necessary to process new check cashing applications; counting down bank or window at the end of each shift and reconciling to the cage accountability or window impressment; performing all transactions with guests in a confidential manner; creating teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions; performing all duties relating to the acceptance, transmission, and delivery of credit card cash and easy draws; adhering to gaming regulations; determining the cash requirements of the window and orders all necessary coins, currency, or chips; maintaining internal controls through immediate reports to the supervisor concerning shortages, errors, or discrepancies; dispensing coin/chips to other cashiers as necessary; overseeing the cashier office when necessary; helping train new cashiers and assisting new cashiers during the training period; meeting the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies; working with other cashiers and cashier supervisors; performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 6 months cash handling experience, preferably in high volume industry. Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. on repetitive basis. Must have excellent guest service. Must be able to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Must be able to balance large cash and chip banks. Must be able to stand on your feet for 8 hours a day. Remains positive at all times, even during high guest volume times. Must be able to obtain State of LA Gaming License.
