VINTON — Broken trees still can be found in this town of 5,000, ten months after a storm packing 100-mph winds blew through in the middle of the night.

In recognition of those homeowners who take the time and effort to add a little more color and beauty to their neighborhoods, the Town of Vinton, along with the Beautification Committee, have begun a program of recognizing one home each month as Yard of the Month.
