On Saturday morning at 01.50am the police caught three persons red handed stealing from a Toyota Vitz parked in Triq il-Port Ruman, St Paul’s Bay. They had been tipped off that these men were stealing from cars parked in the street.

After Monday’s heavy downpour, a part of the road between St Paul’s Bay and Ghajn Tuffieha is flooded again, making it difficult for people to drive or walk through it.

Over 200 candidates will be contesting the local council elections on a Labour ticket, to be held next March. The Labour Party this morning presented its Maltese and Gozitan candidates in two separate events - one in Gozo and other in Malta.

For the first time ever, local council elections will be held in 34 localities. Sources close to the Electoral Commission have told MaltaToday that the writ for the next local councils election is expected to be issued this Thursday, in time for the 10 March election date that is set by law.
