Christopher Cutler Rich packed a lifetime of love for animals in his short life and now his memory and that love will live on in the new Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter in Gloucester. The Hamilton boy was killed when he was 10 in a bicycle accident in 1997. Cape Ann Animal Aid will hold an open house at the new shelter on Sunday, May 26 from noon to 4 p.m.

Walkers on Stacey Boulevard can see that the World War II Memorial – located at McKinnon Triangle on Western Avenue – is currently roped off with caution tape, suggesting some sort of work will soon be done on the memorial that is one of the centerpieces of Gloucester’s Memorial Day ceremonies. The future of the Gloucester boys and girls track teams is looking very bright Case in point the number of underclassmen competing at today's Class B State Championship meet. Of the 16 Fishermen competing today, 14 are underclassmen.
