ELKO — While federal government has the day off for Memorial Day, law enforcement in northeastern Nevada will be stepping up seatbelt enforcement.

A dispatcher from Central Dispatch Center in Elko views a computer screen Wednesday of information relative to emergency services in Elko County. The system is called CAD, or computer aided dispatch.

Gentlemen: There is no doubt when you raise any fee or tax you negatively impact business, homeowners and especially citizens trying to make ends meet on a fixed income. There is a direct and significant economic burden on business and all citizens.

Christopher Nathaniel Ahlin, 26, of Elko was sentenced by Elko Justice of the Peace Barbara Nethery to 60 days house arrest and to pay $637 after being found guilty of driving on a canceled, suspended or revoked license.

Jason Anderson, 34, of Ashland, Mont., was arrested at Third and Idaho streets on a warrant. Bail: $5,000 Andrew Bogenholm, 37, of Woodland Park, Colo., was arrested at the Elko County Jail on a warrant. No bail listed.
