A Bartlesville man was being held on $100,000 bond after his arrest Wednesday for alleged child abuse. Sidney Cordey Downing, 33, faces a single count of the charge.

Friday is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the June 26 primary election and special election for the City of Bartlesville, according to Washington County Election Board Secretary Yvonne House. House said that persons who are U.S. citizens, residents of Oklahoma and at least 18 years of age may apply to become registered voters.

The wildest rides at Six Flags or Disneyland have nothing on this past Bartlesville High School varsity baseball season. After stumbling to an 0-6 start — and standing at 1-9 after 10 games — the Bruins put together a 5-0 winning streak, muscled out a 3-3 record in their next six games, and continued to rise and fall throughout the remainder of the grueling season.
