FORT GIBSON — With all of the success Fort Gibson girls basketball team has enjoyed this season, one aspect gets overlooked. It’s the Lady Tigers’ defense.

— FORT GIBSON — A parking lot for the Cherokee Nation Fort Gibson Casino is generally full any given day of the week. The casino is at the intersection of Georgetown Road and U.S. 62 — a difficult intersection to navigate, particularly at night.

The Tulsa Union eighth-grade Winter Guard team, which won first in its division Saturday, performs at the Winter Guard and Percussion Contest of Oklahoma competition at Fort Gibson High School.

A Fort Gibson man was sentenced in federal court to 90 months in prison on a weapon-related charge, according to a media release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

FORT GIBSON – Brooke Palmer may be coming out of the shadows for Fort Gibson’s girls basketball team. She was primarily a backup to All-Phoenix selection Nana Wallace last season and did not figure prominently in the spotlight this season with her older teammates getting the points and attention.

— FORT GIBSON — The Fort Gibson police chief is concerned the expanded casino being built at the intersection of Georgetown Road and U.S. 62 might increase traffic dramatically.

FORT GIBSON – Defense does it. Wagoner coach Mike Blair attested to it. Forcing his Lady Bulldogs into nine first-quarter turnovers, the Fort Gibson Lady Tigers built a 23-6 lead.
