A McLoud man charged with first-degree murder in the October 2010 child abuse death of his girlfriend’s child was set for jury term this week but waived his right to a speedy trial Monday in Pottawatomie County District Court.

With redistricting, 24 precincts and polling changes have been changed in Pottawatomie County, meaning 13,000 voters were mailed new cards reflecting precinct changes. Pottawatomie County also has consolidated some precincts to save costs, with the county going from 30 precincts down to 26. These changes are effective with the upcoming Feb. 14 election.

NORMAN — Today is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the Annual School Election on Feb. 14, Cleveland County Election Board Secretary Jim Williams said today. Noble, Lexington, Mustang and McLoud schools will have elections.
