Pocola School Superintendent Ron Sherrell has resigned his position, effective June 30, the end of his contract period, he said Tuesday.

Julie Lang, a Pocola Public Schools fifth-grade teacher, is the district’s second teacher to achieve the prestigious National Board Certification.

Early and in-person absentee voting for Oklahoma’s annual school elections is Friday and Monday, according to area election board officials.
