CEBU City will have its own 911 or rescue hotline soon, Mayor Michael Rama said yesterday. The mayor recently met with representatives from a business process outsourcing company, which will provide the centralized command center at no cost to the City Government.

REPRESENTATIVE Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district) expressed his dismay when he learned that President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III is not in favor of his proposal filed in Congress in September 2010. Osmeña is referring to his House Bill 3152 or “An Act Declaring Dec. 25 to Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 as Special Non-Working Holidays.”

CEBU CITY – On its 100th anniversary, the Fuente Osmeña circle in Cebu City will undergo a P13-million facelift and rehabilitation. The work will be at no cost to the City Government, as expenses will be shouldered by M. Lhuillier, which also puts up a huge Christmas tree in the park every year.
