75 Years Ago Saturday, January 16, 1937 • Seven deaths in 48 hours were reported today from influenza on the Crow Creek, Lower Brule Indian reservation, about 50 miles southeast of Pierre. Missionaries said many Indians are ill and more deaths were expected. Missionaries said the epidemic was complicated by inadequate food and housing conditions.
