The Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce is holding a raffle Friday, March 9 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc., 101 Walnut St. Grand prize is $10,000. The Watertown Town Council and the Town Manager have no commitment to safe sidewalks free of snow and ice. Citizens are forced to walk on streets with speeding cars, and face being hit, or to walk on dangerous sidewalks piled with snow and possibly fall. But town officials tell us they could not enforce a proposed ordinance requiring all property owners to shovel their sidewalks.
