Poker news source: CardPlayer Magazine - http://www.cardplayer.com ABC Airs Pro Am Poker Equalizer This Weekend Eight Episodes of Pro Am Poker Equalizer Air Each Saturday and Sunday Through Christmas On Saturday and Sunday, November 11 -12, at 2PM, ABC is airing the Pro-Am Poker Equalizer; a unique tournament featuring an exciting mix of professional poker players and celebrity enthusiasts playing for a first-place prize worth $500,000. Filmed at the South Coast Casino in Las Vegas, each episode features six players (four professionals and two amateurs) playing in a six-handed Sit & Go tournament. The winner of Saturday’s table will advance to Sunday’s round for a chance to compete for the $500,000 prize. Saturday’s episode will include Erick Lindgren, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Daniel Negreanu, Jose Canseco, and Cheryl Hines. Mike Matusow, Gus Hansen, Johnny Chan, Shawn Sheikhan, Nicholas Gonzalez, and Yancey Arias, will play on Sunday. Four poker professionals will go against two celebrity players in each heat. To even the playing field, the celebrities will start with twice as many chips as the pros. The winner of each heat will go on to the final round and compete for the $500,000 first place prize. The runner up will be awarded $150,000, with the other four finalists taking home $25,000 each. Players qualified for the invitation-only tournament over the summer during a freeroll promotion offered by Full Tilt. ABC’s Pro-Am Equalizer will air every weekend through December 23, with the final table match determining who takes home the half-million dollar prize.
