BIOGRAPHY

Since the release of REO Speedwagon's first record in 1971, the band that lived out of a Chevy wagon while playing every bar in America has produced 17 albums and 13 Top 40 singles (including two Billboard #1's). They’ve performed at the historic "Live Aid" concert and President Clinton's 1996 Inaugural Ball; appeared on the Howard Stern Show, Politically Incorrect, VH-1's Rock 'n Roll Jeopardy, The Today Show and have been the feature of a Behind the Music episode. And they’ve sold more than 40 million records. A run of hits began with "Live, You Get What You Play For" in 1977, continued with the multi-platinum, "You Can Tuna Piano But You Can't Tune A Fish", the 10 million seller "Hi Infidelity" and culminated with the number one single, "Can't Fight This Feeling." Then, in 1985 it was time for the REO team to regroup and rekindle its spirit. The next incarnation of REO began when lead singer and songwriter Kevin Cronin, keyboard god Neal Doughty and bass guitarist Bruce Hall joined forces with former Ted Nugent lead guitarist Dave Amato and drummer Bryan Hitt. The new and improved band played sold out tours with Fleetwood Mac in 1996, and Foreigner and Peter Frampton in 1997, as well as a stadium tour of South America that showcased the band in front of tens of thousands of international fans. In 1996, the band released its fourteenth studio album, "Building The Bridge", embraced as one of REO's strongest ever, by former President Bill Clinton among others. In response to the 9-11 attacks, REO joined “Arch Allies,” Styx and Journey, Lynard Skynard, and Bad Company for the mammoth “Rock to the Rescue” concerts that earned $500,000 for the New York/New Jersey Port Authority Memorial Fund. This year’s tour finds the band at its absolute, ultimate best, delivering one electrifying performance after another across the U.S.
