BIOGRAPHY

The Doobie Brothers are one of the great bands to have rocked the Seventies and then kept on rollin down the highway and into the new Millenium, singing, playing and producing a string of Gold, Platinum... Read More...and multi-Platinum records. While another quintet, Moby Grape, provided inspiration for the band at its inception, The Doobie Brothers created their own special brand of blues with a rollicking rock edge and recorded some true classics of the era: “Long Train Runnin’,” “Listen to the Music,” adding a lick of laid-back country to “Black Water,” and a tinge of gospel and jazz to "Takin' It to the Streets." While the band has been through a few changes since 1970, Patrick Simmons. Tom Johnston and Mike Hossack are playing together again, joined by Keith Knudsen and John McFee, formerly a duo in Southern Pacific. Master of finger-picked acoustic guitar, Pat Simmons wrote “Toulouse Street” back in 1972 and the band’s first #1 hit, “Black Water.” Vocalist/guitarist Tom Johnston, penned many of the early hard rockin’ hits like “China Grove,” and “Rockin’ Down the Highway.” John McFee adds another guitar, plus violin, dobro, harmonica and pedal steel. Knudsen is on percussion, together with Mike Hossack whose unique drumming style was a driving force on its breakthrough LP, “Toulouse Street,” and the even more successful “The Captain and Me.” See why this band has sold more than 30 million records - it’s all about the music.

BIOGRAPHY

Few artists can live up to the words “living legend” – but George Jones is one of them. The Voice of Country Music has been recording for fifty years, seen it all and survived everything from the heartbreak... Read More...of divorce to a near-fatal car crash, and come back to smile and sing through his tears. Jones is known for his extraordinary vocal command and a rich, deeply affecting voice that soars through a heart-wrenching ballad like no other. 1999 marked the 40th anniversary of Jones’ first #1 record, “White Lightning,” and he also took home a Grammy that year as Best Male Vocalist for his 164th charted single, “Choices,” from the Gold LP, “Cold Hard Truth.” Earlier in his career, Jones won a Grammy for “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” one of the all-time great country songs. “He Stopped Loving Her Today” stayed on the charts at #1 for eighteen straight weeks and was named Single of the Year by the Country Music Academy for both 1980 and 1981. Other hits included 1961’s “She Thinks I Still Care,” a duet with wife Tammy Wynette, “We’re Gonna Hold On,” “The Door,” and “Yesterday’s Wine,” with Merle Haggard. In fact, Jones has more charted singles than any artist in the history of popular music and has earned 6 Gold LPs and 2 Platinum. In 2001, Jones released “The Rock,” proving that his vocal prowess is still unsurpassed whether he’s in a rockabilly mood or delivering a mournful country ballad. Jones is a national treasure -- a genuine artist with a miraculous voice that every music fan should experience at least once in their lifetime.
