From their breakout LP in 1973, to their vivid stage presence today, the Marshall Tucker Band has played for countless avid fans and the good ol’ boys from Spartanburg, South Carolina remain a powerful... Thirty years later, the band rocks on with David Muse, on flute, sax and keyboards, Tony Heatherly on bass and Chris Hicks, former member of the Outlaws, as a scorching third guitar, not to mention killer vocals. The band also includes slide guitarist Stuart Swanlund and drummer B.B. Borden, former member of Mother’s Finest and The Outlaws. And of course, there are the signature vocals of lead singer and founding member, Doug Gray. Known as one of the great Southern rock bands, Marshall Tucker has always taken an eclectic approach: little bit country, a little bit of blues, R&B, gospel, jazz improvisation and even a little classic Western swing. Their music knows no boundaries and years of rigorous touring around the world earned the band the respect of critics and millions of dedicated fans. With hit singles like “Heard It In a Love Song,” “Fire On The Mountain,” “Can’t You See,” and “Take The Highway,” The Marshall Tucker Band earned seven gold and three platinum albums – Searchin’ for a Rainbow, Carolina Dreams and Greatest Hits. During the 90’s, the MTB scored four hit singles on Billboard’s country chart and one on the gospel chart. Their music has been featured on the soundtracks of movies such as Smokey and the Bandit, The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper, and Shipwrecked. Known as a “jammin’” band, MTB’s onstage prowess is legendary. The Marshall Tucker Band should not be missed. |
