Check out the latest television talk at Media Village

We had some friends who went on one of these to the Bahamas for their honeymoon. They loved it - I guess they could gamble even though they weren't 21. Is it because they were on international waters or something? They came back saying they absolutely loved it. I would like to go on one, but I am afraid I would spend all my time in the casino!

These cruises are great!

My wife thought the same as you so we made a deal, I can gamble when casino open if I would do some excursions with her in port.

I liked the excursion better! One was a party cruise around the island, left at 8 am and we drank! (Gave you one when coming on board), stop at an inlet, continued drinking and now we have music, took us to the beach, we waded and...yep...drank. Fond memories of Rum Punch.

You get the picture, had a blast the whole time and gambled too!

I went on an Alaska cruise a while back with Princess Cruise Lines.

I found that with all the EATING, shore excursions, and just watching the incredible scenery go by - the time spent in the onboard casino was pretty limited.

I did go there a couple times, and pretty much just lost a small bankroll before moving on.

My cruise experience was excellent and am planning another one for this Fall. But NOT for the gambling.

Gambling vacations belong in Las Vegas.

Steve

I pretty much have to agree with Steve on this. The casinos on the boats are generally pretty small to moderate in size. The slots seem tighter on the cruise ships than they do in the land based casinos.

Additionally, I have to agree that the food is BIG part of the cruise experience for me. There are also casinos in a lot of the destinations.

But mostly, hanging out in a chair with a drink, some good food and looking at cool places I've never seen before takes up the bulk of my time.

Oh, tight slots would be no fun. The size probably wouldn't matter to me - you are talking to someone that had to play slots in the Vegas airport as soon as we landed - LOL!

Thats funny Libby - if the Las Vegas airport slots are loose enough for you, then the cruise ship casino slots should be loose enough, too. Those airport slots are about the tightest I've ever played. The casino for me is a place to wander through on the boat a few times after I've had a few drinks. I'll throw in a few coins or play a hand of poker - expecting to lose, mind you - all in the name of good fun.
