I think what it's doing is leaving your name in there on the list, even after you've left the table, until someone subsequently checks the list, or adds themselves to it possibly. Only then does it NOT show you at the table. I think. Or something like that anyway.
Because when I went in the very first time, it showed el3lis ( I think that was the name) at a table, but when I joined the table, there was no one there. So I went back out and I saw the list was empty, making me think that I had JUST missed that person, that they had just left... but now I think that they could have left any time before I came in, not necessarily right before I came in, and their name still would not have disappeared from the list until I had joined the table and my name appeared on the list.
Because when I left the table, I saw my name was still on the list, I think. I thought it was just still there because I had just left, and that it would be removed from the list in a second or two.
But now I think it stayed on the list until you showed up, which could have been right away, or much later, but whenever it was, I think my name would still have been on the list until you came back out of the room to leave. You would have seen my name still on the list, making you think I had JUST left, when really I may have been gone for awhile already (which gibes with what you said.)
That was probably a confusing explanation, but I think that's what's happening-- that someone's name stays on the list for too long after they've left. I think it's not removed until someone else joins the table.
And if so, every time someone comes in when there's no one in there, we're all going to be thinking, "Just my luck! I JUST missed 'em!", making us all think we must have incredibly bad timing EVERY time!
