Argosy Casino Receives Business of the Year Award

Argosy Casino received Riverside Chamber of Commerce's Business of the Year Award at a chamber business after hours event December 14, 2006 hosted by Argosy.

Nominations for the award, which were unanimous this year, come from the Riverside business community.

"Argosy was nominated specifically for its commitment to the community," said Cindi Rice, executive director of the Riverside Chamber of Commerce. "And, the fact that Argosy is building a hotel demonstrates a huge commitment to Riverside and the community."

"It's an honor to receive such a prestigious award," said Tom Burke, Argosy Vice President and General Manager.

"This is especially meaningful because it comes from our home community," he said, after accepting the award from Riverside Mayor, Kathy Rose. "And we really couldn't be where we are without the over 900 employees who work at Argosy. Over the past 12-plus years, we have been very fortunate to have cultivated a positive and productive relationship with the City of Riverside and the businesses here, and we look forward to more successes to come. This is an exciting time for all of us here at Argosy as we approach the grand opening of Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa - a project that will complete our transformation into a premier entertainment facility. And, while the hotel is a milestone for us, it also will attract local travelers and out-of-town guests to Riverside."

"It was an honor and a pleasure to present the Business of the Year Award to Argosy," said Riverside Mayor Kathy Rose.

"Argosy Casino and their employees represent the true essence of what being a good community partner is all about," she said. "Not only have they created and developed a beautiful facility that provides dining and entertainment, they have assembled quality team members who graciously give of their time to support a variety of community causes in and outside the Riverside area. My hat is off to all of them!"
