ATLANTIC CITY — Lottery winner Jack Whittaker's string of bad luck continues at the Atlantic City casinos.

Whittaker, a West Virginia man who won the $314.9 million Powerball jackpot in 2002, has been sued by Bally's Atlantic City for allegedly writing $100,000 in bad checks in 2004 to cover his gambling debts.

Bally's is demanding repayment of the money in its lawsuit, filed June 13 in U.S. District Court in Newark, the Charleston (W. Va.) Gazette reported. Whittaker's attorney could not be reached for comment Monday.

Whittaker was sued by Caesars Atlantic City in May 2005 for allegedly writing $1.5 million in bad checks during gambling trips in 2004. He has filed counterclaims against Caesars contending that he owes nothing because of financial agreements he had with the casino.
