Beau Rivage to add to returning staff – reopening August 29th

Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi expects 60 percent of its employees who worked there before to return for the grand re-opening on Aug. 29 - the one-year anniversary of Katrina. But that leaves over 1,000 jobs that still need to be filled. A total of 3,400 employees are needed to staff the resort.
The Beau Rivage Employment Center in St. Martinique Plaza at 15812 LeMoyne Blvd. is set to open today. It will be open through August from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. on Saturdays. A list of job openings is also available at www.workatbeau.com.

About 1,400 Beau employees have been working in construction-related jobs at the Beau Rivage and another 300 to 400 are already on the job as part of the pre-opening team.

Also expected to reopen this year are the former Grand Casino Gulfport, Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis, Grand Casino Biloxi, Boomtown and Treasure Bay. The reopenings of those five casinos and the Beau Rivage would put 6,500 casino employees back at work on the Gulf Coast. As Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, the Isle of Capri Biloxi and the Palace Casino and Resort are already open, that would put 10,500 total casino employees at work. Pre-Katrina employment, including Hard Rock Casino that was scheduled to open three days after the hurricane hit and is still closed, was estimated at 17,000.
