After 9 1/2 years in Mayetta, Prairie Band Casino and Resort switched to self-management in July without missing a single roll of the dice.
And patrons will continue to find the attention and service that earned the casino honors as best casino and best employer and for best restaurant service and best place for wedding reception in this year's Best of Topeka and Sixty Miles balloting, said Sheryl Blue, advertising manager for Prairie Band Casino & Resort.
To what do you attribute your wins?
Our employees and the attention and service that they provide to our guests. Our employees take pride in our casino, and it shows in the service that they give to our players. We strive to know each of our players, understand their needs and expectations and then exceed them.
What changes have you made in the past year?
The biggest change, of course is the change from Harrah's management to self-management. With this came the new Prairie Band Players card and all the benefits that go along with having that card. This includes the new Superstrike Mystery Jackpot that starts out at $5,000 and is guaranteed to hit by the time it reaches $15,000. All a player needs to do to be eligible for this jackpot is to be playing at a slot machine with the card inserted. Prairie Band Players cards are free with a valid ID and are available at the Prairie Band Players Club.
What can customers expect from you in the coming year?
Continued great service from the Prairie Band Casino & Resort team, a continually updated casino floor for maximum casino excitement, exciting promotions and events, and delicious dining.

Not only are our employees extremely friendly, but so are the vendors we work with and the guests who visit our casino.

Our players are coming from all over Kansas and the surrounding states.
