Big Money at the Casino
More money is being wagered at Erie`s Presque Isle Downs Casino than anyone ever imagined.
In the first week, the State Gaming Board said casino patrons wagered $59.6 million.
Presque Isle Downs paid out $53.9 million in winnings.
That leaves nearly $5.7 million in profits.
The state gets 55 percent of that amount and the casino keeps the other 45 percent.
Casino officials says they continue to tweak operations in Summit Township, and plan to hire more employees to keep up with the demand of casino patrons.
