The Ameristar Casino was closed Friday after construction blasting damaged the building. August 24, 2007.
GILPIN COUNTY -- The popular Ameristar casino in Black Hawk was closed Friday after routine rock blasting accidentally caused structural damage, authorities said.
The blasting, which took place early Friday morning, caused a portion of an exterior wall to fall which -in turn- knocked out some water pipes, a spokeswoman said.
The casino was closed for the day. Managers hope to have it reopened Saturday.
The Ameristar casino is in the process of constructing a hotel tower. |
