Showboat put the cherry on top of its House of Blues project recently when it introduced the new House of Blues-themed suites at its hotel.
The 22 suites in the Orleans Tower offer a unique experience for Atlantic City visitors. Trendy, upscale and very cool, the suites feature a two-level design complete with a living room and large, plush couch area that features a 42-inch plasma television placed above a fireplace mantel and a state-of-the-art surround sound system complete with iPod docking station and Sirius satellite radio, and free Internet Wi-Fi service. The sound systems were installed by Vineland's C.A.S. Music Productions.
The bedroom area features a king-size bed, a Bose Wave radio and top-of-the-line bedding. There are two bathrooms, but the main one features a large stand-up glass shower with multi-dimensional jets, granite countertops and two sinks.
Modeled after the House of Blues private club, the Foundation Room, the suites feature painted ceilings, unique artwork and statues, Persian rugs and rich woods.
‘They are fabulous,' says Michael Grozier, the general manager of the Atlantic City House of Blues and corporate vice president of business development. ‘The artists have been staying there, Foundation Room members have been staying there, and guests are becoming familiar with the House of Blues through the suites. You check in for a weekend and party like a rock star. It is a wonderful middle ground between the Foundation Room and the House of Blues. It offers all of the fine qualities of the Foundation Room as well as the funky charm of the House of Blues.'
Unlike most suites in area casinos, the House of Blues suites are available for purchase and are not used as comping tools to attract high-end gamers. They range in price from $175 to $425, depending on the season and day of the week. Plus, Foundation Room members receive discounts.
The suites entitle guests to VIP check-in and available butler service. A special House of Blues room service menu is also available. Guests will also be admitted into the Foundation Room during their stay, as well as free admission to Club Worship, HOB's dance club.
‘The reaction has been incredibly favorable,' Grozier says. ‘People are blown away. I think they are some of the nicest rooms in Atlantic City.'
