Kansans are getting the chance to change the design of one of KCK's potential casinos. At an open house on Sunday, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation shared its casino and hotel design with its possible future neighbors. They also asked them to give feedback on what they saw.

The Unified Government in Kansas City, Kansas gave the Las Vegas Sands a second chance last month and put them back in the running to open a casino here in town. But casino designers said they want more than just a chance. They want to win and they're asking the public to help them do that.

In a packed room in Kansas City, Kansas, representatives with the Las Vegas Sands Corp. revealed their design completely open to change.

At the mic in the room, or on a comment card, those interested in finding out more about their potential new neighbor had a chance to suggest ideas and express their concerns about the casino that might be moving in.

"We're here to get feedback from the potential neighbors that we'll have and people from the greater area," Andy Abboud with Las Vegas Sands Corp. said. "Get feedback about our designs, traffic flows and about how they feel about what we're proposing for their city."

The Sands Corp. has done this before in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Retired teacher Roger Hudak was a volunteer for that city and worked with the Sands Corp. to tailor their design for the casino in Bethlehem.

"Good corporate citizenship is something we always hope to see in corporate America, you have that in the Sands, in the experience I've had in working with them," Hudak said. "They've been absolutely always available to answer questions on either by email or telephone."

The Kansas Lottery Commission will decide which casino will get the chance to build in KCK, but there is no telling when that decision will come down.
