Casino Rouge plans name change

Casino Rouge plans to change the name of its riverboat casino and the Louisiana Gaming Control Board today unanimously approved those plans.
The casino complex, located near the State Capitol, wants to change its name to Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge sometime in early 2007, said Jon Zimmerman, the facility’s general manager.
Penn National Gaming, which owns Casino Rouge, is completing an $8.5 million renovation of onshore facilities. The name change will take effect when the renovation is complete, Zimmerman said.
Casino Rouge opened in 1994.
