The owners of the French Lick Resort Casino have scheduled a second job fair at the West Baden Springs Hotel.
The job fair will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. next Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the following Saturday, Aug. 19.
Officials hope to conduct “on-the-spot” hiring to fill the roughly 300 positions remaining at the resort and casino. The positions are primarily hourly front line and supervisory positions.
Employment candidates should bring their Social Security cards and photo I.D.s with them to the fair. Training for newly hired employees will begin the following week.
About 2,000 people waited for hours at a similar job fair in June at the historic Orange County hotel. More than 1,000 hospitality and gambling jobs were up for grabs at the resort and casino -- a development that encompasses the West Baden Springs Hotel, its sister property a mile away.
The owners hope to open the riverboat casino in June 2007. The 84,000-square-foot casino will include a 42,000-square-foot gambling floor, as well as bigger guest rooms, gardens, new restaurants, a spa and retail shops |
