Casino revenue down; one closed by state

LAKEWOOD - Colorado's mountain casinos posted a 5.1 percent decline in revenue in December, hurt by two blizzards that closed many state roads and highways, according to data released Thursday.
The Colorado Division of Gaming also said it has forced the closure of the Virgin Mule casino in Cripple Creek for two dozen gaming violations, including a charge that one of its owners worked on a slot machine without a gaming license.
The state's 45 casinos reported adjusted gross proceeds - which is total bets minus payouts - of $54.5 million in December, down from $57.4 million in December 2005. |
