Casino news source: Herald News - http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com Casino revenue reported June 8, 2007 from staff reports JOLIET -- Casino revenue in May was up at Harrah's Joliet Casino & Hotel and down at Empress Casino. Revenue results at the local casinos were included in the Illinois Gaming Board's monthly report on casino income released Thursday. The state's nine casinos in May generated revenue of $166 million, up 2.76 percent from May 2006. Harrah's Joliet revenue of $32.9 million was up 11 percent from a year ago. Empress revenue of $20.2 million was down 5 percent from May 2005. Empress's sister casino in Aurora, Hollywood Casino, showed a 4 percent increase from a year ago at $23.1 million. Hollywood and the Empress are owned by Penn National Gaming. Empress admissions in May were 168,479, down 3.3 percent from a year ago. Harrah's admissions of 245,629 were up 13.8 percent.
