Casino roof catches fire overnight
One week after getting robbed at gunpoint, it looks like 'lady luck' has turned on the Golden West Casino, again.
Flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the casino on Union Avenue late Wednesday night. The Bakersfield Fire Department
says the air conditioner caught fire around 11:30 p.m. The building was evacuated while firefighters put out the blaze.
A Battalion Chief says damage to the building was minimal, but the casino was closed so a fire inspector could take a closer look at the fire and damages. The Golden West Casino was open for business Thursday morning. |
