Mohegan Sun posted its third-best month in history and best August ever in slot machine win, while Foxwoods Resort Casino posted its worst August in six years.
Mohegan Sun reported revenue of $82 million for August from $950.7 million being played on 6,199 machines. The slot machines paid out 91.37 percent of what was played on them. Only July 2005, which saw a win of $80.1 million, and July of 2006, which collected $84.1 million, were better months in the casino’s history. August’s win was $5.7 million higher than the same month last year.
Foxwoods’ win for August was $71.3 million from $800.2 million being played on 7,217 machines. They paid out 91.09 percent of what players put in them. The win was almost $2.9 million less than the same month last year and $6 million less than August 2003, the casino’s best August on record.
The casinos give 25 percent of slot revenues to the state under an agreement to allow the casinos here. This month Mohegan Sun gave $20.5 million and Foxwoods gave $17.8 million.
