Well, The Century has been open for almost a month - today is August 9th.
Where are they?
Many more machines are up, but there's still perhaps 150 dark ones. The story is "we're waiting for parts on backorder". That's probably BS. IGT doesn't have spare parts on hand? Here's what I think...
Century bought many of these machines used. Guess from where? New Orleans. Mississippi. These are Katrina machines. They've been UNDER WATER !!!! They may never work right.
Still no art work - the place does NOT look like it belongs in Central City.
The staff has come on strong - big improvement in service since the beginning. Most of them you talk to LOVE working there.
The Poker Room is open (downstairs) and it's a beauty. Non-smoking, but with a nearby outside door for grabbing a quick drag. Big, new, self-contained with it's own bar and bathrooms.
There's a big bank of vintage single-line JOB machines, but they are 8/5. Come on!
So - things are getting better. They still have a ways to go.
