Nevada Casino News Source: http://www.2theadvocate.com Carson City, Nev., presents The Silver Dollar Car Classic Friday-Sunday, July 28-30, at Mills Park. The show is open to all makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles. The Classic kicks off with a Cruise Night Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Plaza Hotel and Conference Center with a “Show and Shine,” when drivers park their wheels outside the hotel so guests can ogle the goods and size up the competition. Registration, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday is at The Carson Nugget Casino followed by a welcoming party. Participants and the public are invited to a TGIF Street Dance Party at the casino’s west parking lot at 7 p.m. Saturday, activities start with a pancake breakfast in Mills park at 7:30 a.m. Vehicles will be exhibited and judged during the day. Saturday night there will be a rock concert by Jimmy and the Jets from Sacramento. Following a Sunday pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m., there will be a Best in the West Poker Run. During the combo poker game/treasure-hunt-on-the-run, competitors drive to pre-designated locations and draw a card at each locale. Winner of the best poker hand gets the chance to win $1 million by hitting a hole-in-one at The Empire Golf Course. Admission is $5. Entry fee for the Silver Dollar Car Classics weekend is $75 per person and includes the Early Arrival Party, TGIF Party, Show & Shine Competition, a T-shirt and dash plaque, two Saturday and Sunday pancake breakfasts, two barbeque dinners, admission for one to the Poker Run and goodies from sponsors.
