A Camden County couple accused of leaving their 3-week old son alone in a car in a casino parking garage for several hours this weekend were charged with child abuse and child endangerment.

Security personnel at Caesars Atlantic City Hotel Casino found the child just before 1 a.m. Saturday after some patrons reported seeing him in the back seat of the car. They notified city police, and officers Andrea Perry and Shelley Kellerman were soon able to get the child out of the vehicle.

The officers remained at the scene until the child's parents _ Jennifer Drake, 19, and Andrew Delano, 21, both of Clementon _ returned to the car around 4 a.m. They were arrested and taken to the Atlantic County Jail, but it was not clear whether they remained in custody early Sunday.

The child, whose name was not released, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was treated and released. He was turned over to the state Division of Youth and Family Services and remained in the agency's custody early Sunday.

OMG - what were these people thinking? And if the mom is only 19, what the *&^% is she doing in a casino anyhow? She can't gamble! Why didn't she just sit in the lobby with the baby?
