Delaware Will Allow ATMs on the Casino Floors
03/07/2007
DOVER (AP)- A Delaware lottery official says ATMs will now be allowed on the floor of state casinos.
The state's three slots venues requested the elimination of a regulation requiring that ATMs be at least 25 feet from slot machines. The request is expected to be granted after an April 2 hearing.
Delaware Lottery Director Wayne Lemons says the ATMs will still be far enough away from a machine that gamblers have to leave the slot machines.
Lisa Pertzoff, who heads the state's council on gambling problems, says she does not think having ATMs closer to the slots will increase gambling problems.
Dover Downs Chief Operating Officer Ed Sutor believes the change should help the track compete with slots venues in Pennsylvania. |
