INDIANAPOLIS -- After 17 years of playing the lottery, nine men at Delphi's Kokomo plant hit a $9 million jackpot on their last day of employment.
None of the men expected to win the Hoosier Lottery. The fact that they did it on their last day of work was especially remarkable.
"We really couldn't hardly believe it at first because we've been playing for so long," said Richard Quinn. "Finally, the last time we play it, we finally hit it."
Once the money is split nine ways and taxes are taken out, each will get $370,000. The men said they hadn't made any big purchases yet, but they have already begun planning.
"My wife's taking care of mine. She's got a list that's getting longer by the day," said Nicholas Gray, another winner.
All but one of the men are retiring. All said the money will make their lives much more comfortable. |
