Domed racetrack developer sues Plainfield
PLAINFIELD — Developer Gene Arganese and his New England Raceway Company have filed four lawsuits against the town, appealing its decision to do away with the resort/recreation zone.
The so-called C-5 zone is a district the town created in April 2005 to allow Arganese to build a domed racetrack on property near the Connecticut Yankee Greyhound Raceway.
The zone was revoked last month and at no time during its existence had an application been filed that required the zone.
The period for Arganese to appeal the C-5 decision would have ended Friday
