LAKEWOOD, N.J. (October 4, 2005) – The Dominican Republic has joined the more than 400 worldwide jurisdictions accepting certifications from Gaming Laboratories International. The country’s Casino Commission authorized acceptance of GLI certification reports in a late-September meeting, making GLI the first independent testing lab to have its certification reports accepted in the jurisdiction.
GLI South American Development Representative Karen Sierra has been working with the Dominican Republic’s Casino Commission. She said, “This is positive news for manufacturers who are hoping to import their devices in the Dominican Republic. With the Casino Commission accepting our certifications, there will be little delay in sales when the Commission adopts standards.”
Tests on equipment destined for the Dominican Republic will be conducted at any of GLI’s worldwide locations, and certifications will be issued through GLI’s world headquarters in New Jersey.
