Dynamic New Lobby Design Debuts With A Splash At Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino

Contemporary look redefines open-air lobby space and Alfresco Lobby Bar

Luxury and innovation abound in the stunning redesign of Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino’s newly completed open-air lobby and adjacent lobby bar. Evoking a residential ambience that blends casual Caribbean elegance with sleek modern styling, the new look by Hirsch Bedner Associates emphasizes the lobby’s grand lofty space and the bar’s easy patio lifestyle. They’re finished, fabulous and ready to receive guests!

Lobby
Retaining the splendor of its unique open-air architecture, Hyatt Regency Aruba’s lobby now radiates an equally unique contemporary décor. The front desk gleams with white Calcutta marble, glass tile and Maya Romanoff “mother-of-pearl” wall-coverings set behind ornately-carved wooden screens. Limestone and shellstone tile sweep across the vast floor, while striking, stainless-steel chandeliers by Alger Lighting add bold punctuation. Amidst potted banana palms and billowing white-fabric accents, chaise lounges by Della Robbia and contemporary rattan armchairs by Mark David accentuate the informal yet refined, residential feel.

Alfresco Lobby Bar
The adjacent Alfresco Lobby Bar extends the buoyancy of the lobby into a lively, patio venue that complements stainless steel day-bed seating by Gandia Blasco with classic rattan and teak furniture by Janus et Cie and Henry Hall. The bar at centerstage is faced with stacked strip-limestone, backed with colorful embedded-resin panels and topped with Italian Bottochino marble. Flat-screen televisions throughout the space enhance the convivial tone.

Other areas affected by the resort’s ongoing $20 million renovation include all 336 guestrooms (set for completion May 2007), 24 suites, including four specialty suites, and the Palms Restaurant and Bar (all debuting Summer 2007). The property will remain open and functioning throughout renovations.
