Hollywood Casino, formerly known as Casino Magic, is set to open at 11 a.m. Thursday.
"I think you'll see large crowds be there for the opening day," said Larry Gregory, executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. "You'll see people from Louisiana. That's its crowd."
Hollywood is the second casino to reopen this week on the Gulf Coast, and the eighth since Hurricane Katrina shuttered the Coast's gaming industry a year ago. Beau Rivage re-opened Tuesday, putting 3,800 employees to work.
Hollywood will employ 950 people. About 700 of the employees worked at the casino before the storm.
