Fire damages Hampton Beach casino
July 5, 2007
HAMPTON, N.H. --Investigators are looking into a fire that damaged the Hampton Beach Casino during the night. They say they would like to talk to a couple who told a neighboring store owner they saw someone spraying what appeared to be lighter fluid on a small fire near the entrance to an arcade-like attraction called Funarama that is part of the Casino building.
Most of the damage from the two-alarm fire was confined to Funarama, which was packed with customers. There was smoke damage in other parts of the 108-year-old building, including the Casino Ballroom.
The town fire inspector said efforts would be made to make the Ballroom usable for four consecutive nights of concerts that start tonight. |
