The 138th season of the Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York is the featured out-of-state race meet this month at Michigan's intertrack wagering sites. The meet features 32 graded stakes races, including 15 classified as Grade I, before it closes on Labor Day.
Harness racing continues into October at Hazel Park Raceway in suburban Detroit and thoroughbred racing continues at Great Lakes Downs near Muskegon through Nov. 7.
All Michigan racetracks -- Hazel Park, Great Lakes Downs, Jackson Harness Raceway, Sports Creek Raceway near Flint, Northville Downs in suburban Detroit and Mount Pleasant Meadows -- feature full-card simulcasting days and nights.
